Alessandro Baldussu studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florence, where he first explored reciprocating compressor technology through a 2005 patent study on HydroCOM regulation methodologies. He deepened his knowledge of reciprocating engines in his master’s thesis and later specialized in advanced design methodologies during his Ph.D. in 2014 at Politecnico di Milano and TU Munich.

Alessandro began his career at Nuovo Pignone, where he gained extensive design experience on capital parts and advanced to lead torsional vibration analysis for reciprocating compressors and hyper compressors. He later joined Baker Hughes as Technology Partnership Leader, before becoming Engineering Manager at HOERBIGER Benelux, consolidating his expertise in capital part design and leading solutions for upgrades.

Since 2022, he has served as Global Product Manager for Customer Training at HOERBIGER Wien, where he shares his technical expertise through qualification programs and the field service academy, enabling customers to work with reciprocating compressors using proper methods and terminology.

In addition to his AOS In Automotive Technology II, Alex brings 20 years of mechanical experience with a focus on Machine Analysis and Reliability. Alex holds certifications in vibration analysis, motion amplification, and oscilloscope signal processing.

He has held roles as a Reliability Specialist for a major upstream oil company as well as a Machinery Analyst for a reciprocating compressor OEM specializing in Hyper and Piston Reciprocating Compressor Online Monitoring, Analysis, and Machine Protection.

His current role as Technical Trainer for North America allows him to leverage his passion and talent for educating others.

With 12 years of experience in field service for reciprocating compressors, Vikas Somvanshi specializes in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization. Having worked with major compressor brands across various industries, Vikas has developed expertise in ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. 

In addition to field service, Vikas provides technical support and training, sharing knowledge with teams and customers to enhance operational performance. His in-depth technical expertise allows for the effective resolution of complex service challenges, making him a trusted resource in the industry. 

In his current role as a field service trainer, Vikas shares his technical knowledge with service teams worldwide, helping them solve issues faster, reduce downtime, and improve performance.
